“The second-floor windows facing Beimen and the distinct textures of the fresh-cheese desserts make this a worthwhile detour. Caramel Apple Cheesecake combines soft apple pieces and crisp garnish, while Sea Salt Peanut keeps bits of peanut for texture. Non-coffee drinkers can choose black sesame milk or roasted tea. There are only six window seats; order downstairs first, then head up if seats are available.”

THE STORY

The story behind this place

2018 SINCE

From a science student's coffee interest to Beimen

Mountain Kids settled near Beimen in 2018. The founder originally studied biotechnology and became interested in flavor after discovering siphon coffee as a student. He and his wife wanted to build a business together, first opening a small shop in Kaohsiung before moving to Taipei, where they continued their focus on roasting and brewing with an emphasis on the beans' original character and consistent expression.

Caramel Apple Cheesecake MetroBites visit photo

Caramel Apple Cheesecake

Dense, creamy cheese hides caramelized apple pieces, layering fruit aroma, caramel sweetness, and gentle tang. Whipped cream and dried apple sit on top, moving from soft filling to a biscuit-like crisp garnish so each bite has more than just smoothness.

Sea Salt Peanut Cheesecake MetroBites visit photo

Sea Salt Peanut Cheesecake

Peanut flavor runs through the creamy cheese, with fine peanut pieces adding a light crunch. A touch of sea salt sharpens the nutty richness. Whipped cream, crushed peanuts, and herbs finish the top; compared with the fruit version, this suits anyone who likes pronounced peanut flavor and a sweet-salty contrast.

Hot Black Sesame Latte

Warm milk carries a deep black-sesame aroma with moderate sweetness. Stir before drinking so the flavors between the bottom and milk foam blend evenly. For anyone avoiding coffee but wanting a fragrant hot drink, this is an easy place to start.

● Caramel Apple Cheesecake

Caramel Apple Cheesecake centers on a dense, creamy cheese body. Cut into it and you find caramelized apple pieces inside, layering fruit aroma, caramel notes, and gentle acidity. Whipped cream sits on top with dried apple that has a biscuit-like bite. Smooth cheese, soft fruit, and crisp garnish create several textures in a single mouthful.

焦糖蘋果生乳酪
● Sea Salt Peanut Cheesecake

Sea Salt Peanut Cheesecake keeps the same creamy fresh-cheese texture, but with a much more pronounced peanut aroma and flavor. Fine peanut bits remain in the cheese, adding a light crunch. A little sea salt makes the nutty richness more dimensional while easing the heaviness of the cheese. Whipped cream, crushed peanuts, and herbs finish the top, making it a strong choice for nut-dessert fans.

海鹽花生乳酪
● Hot Black Sesame Latte

Hot Black Sesame Latte puts the deep aroma of black sesame into warm milk. Stir it first so the flavors at the bottom and the milk foam blend more evenly. The sesame comes through clearly, while the sweetness stays moderate rather than taking over. The rounded milk body supports the rich sesame flavor, making it suitable for anyone who does not drink coffee but still wants a fragrant hot drink.

Uncle's line: Outside the window is a century-old city gate; on the table, coffee and cake. However fast the city moves, it is still worth saving a window seat and slowing down for the view.
💡 Ordering note

If you like fruit and changing textures, pair Caramel Apple Cheesecake with Morihan Roasted Tea Au Lait. If you prefer deep nutty flavor, choose Sea Salt Peanut Cheesecake with a Hot Black Sesame Latte. One drink leans into tea aroma, the other into sesame richness; the cheesecakes likewise split between fruit and peanut, making them easy to compare when sharing.
