Slow clay-pot roasting gives coffee character

Beans are hand-roasted over low heat in a clay pot, then served as pour-over or cold-drip coffee. Different batches bring different flavors, adding discovery to the cup.

02
Settle into an old house of brick and timber

Red brick, timber, and greenery create an unhurried space. Sit down with coffee and return your attention to its aromas and changing temperature.

THE STORY

The story behind this place

From a love of coffee to an old red-brick house

小鹿 first discovered coffee through an older sister, then sparked 阿鈜's interest. Together they opened Ze Coffee, initially elsewhere. The previous operator of the current premises became a customer and invited them to move in, connecting the old red-brick house with their coffee lives and creating the shop seen today.

✨ AI dining notes

嘖咖啡 (Ze Coffee) was founded in 2016 and later moved into a two-story red-brick house around 80 years old on Section Two of Nangang Road. Its most distinctive feature isn't photogenic décor, but beans hand-roasted in a clay pot rather than a roasting machine, then brewed as pour-over or cold drip. Staff introduce coffees without a fixed menu, suited to people happy to discuss preferences and sip slowly. Closed days vary, and the shop name now explicitly says pets are not allowed. Check the latest notice before setting out.

Uncle's take: No menu isn't scary. Honestly saying you dislike acidity, prefer body, or want it cold or hot saves everyone more of their life than pretending to know coffee regions.
Setting and atmosphere:Red brick, old timber, and plants keep the house's sense of time. At the ground-floor island counter you can watch clay-pot roasting, while the upstairs and open-air areas invite a slower pace. The approach favors unhurried drinking without a time limit, though seating, outlets, and open areas depend on on-site arrangements. The current shop name explicitly prohibits customers from bringing pets. If the rule changes again, follow the latest notice.
Location and visiting tips:The address is 台北市南港區南港路二段135號, closer to 南港車站, around a 7–10 minute walk away. You can also take a bus to near 土地公廟站. Closed days are irregular, and beans, desserts, and seating areas vary with the day's circumstances. No menu doesn't mean you shouldn't ask about prices. Ask directly about flavor, serving size, and pricing before ordering, so both drinking and paying feel comfortable.
● Cold-Drip Coffee

Long, low-temperature dripping creates a gentler mouthfeel, and aromas gradually open as the coffee warms. It suits anyone who doesn't want the heat of the first sip to hide details. The clay-pot-roasted beans depend on the day's batch and the shop's selection, so don't impose a fixed fruit-acidity or origin description. Smell first, take small sips, then compare again as the temperature changes. Slowness is the pleasure of this cup.

● Biscotti

Twice-baked biscotti are firm and crisp, with dark dried fruit bringing sweet-tart notes. Dip them in coffee or nibble slowly in stages. They needn't steal the coffee's starring role: their job is to stretch the drinking rhythm and add something fragrant to chew. If your teeth are sensitive, break off small pieces. Don't make my front teeth challenge biscotti to a hardness contest.

● Snowball Cookies

Snowball Cookies come in flavors such as brown sugar, black sesame, and cranberry. Almond flour and butter give a crumbly, fragrant bite; brown sugar is mellow, sesame rich, and cranberry adds fruit acidity. Their small size suits pour-over coffee without flattening the palate like a heavy cake. Flavors and availability depend on the day. Ask what you see, rather than treating the three flavors from one visit as a permanent lineup.

💡 Notes for coffee in an old house

On a first visit, describe your preferred acidity, bitterness, body, and drinking temperature, let the staff introduce coffees, then choose biscotti or Snowball Cookies alongside. Closed days vary and pets aren't allowed. Check the shop's social page before leaving, rather than reaching the old house only to stare at a closed shutter.

  • Location:台北市南港區南港路二段135號, around a 7–10 minute walk from 南港車站.
  • Background:Founded in 2016, later moving into an approximately 80-year-old red-brick house and building its identity around hand-roasted clay-pot coffee.
  • Features:Coffee introductions without a fixed menu, pour-over, cold drip, and an old-house space for slow sipping.
  • Reminder:Irregular closed days; the current shop name explicitly states that customers may not bring pets inside.

📌 Editor's closing thoughts

Three layers of Ze Coffee's character are worth keeping: its independent coffee path begun in 2016, the 80-year-old red-brick house, and unusual clay-pot hand roasting. Cold drip lets flavors unfold gradually, while biscotti and Snowball Cookies provide steady company. The shop name now explicitly prohibits customers from bringing pets, and its irregular closed days also need checking before you leave. Don't rely solely on memories of past visits.
