THE STORY

The story behind this place

2016 SINCE

A dining room in the sky at the top of Mega Tower

Far Eastern Group and Shangri-La Hotels planned the Mega 50 dining complex, placing three restaurants, a lounge, and banquet spaces on Mega Tower's top three floors. 50F Café opened in 2016 on the building's highest level.

From the beginning, its identity was tied to the high-rise views of the Xinban Special District. Guests look over Banqiao's streets from the windows, then return to the buffet to plan the order of seafood, sushi, and grilled meats.

✨ AI Quick Take

50樓Café自助餐廳 puts Banqiao's high-rise views and a land-and-sea buffet on the same ticket. The panorama is the first attraction, while Fresh-Cut Sashimi, seared conger eel sushi, and Charcoal-Grilled Steak are what pull you away from the windows for another round. It works for birthdays, family gatherings, or anyone planning a full meal with the night view. Just do not stare outside too long; popular dishes will not stand still while you finish taking photos.

Uncle's line: The fear with a view restaurant is that the scenery is on the 50th floor while the food stays on the ground floor. Fortunately, several made-to-order dishes here rise to the occasion.
Setting and atmosphere:The restaurant occupies the 50th floor of Mega Tower, where large windows bring Banqiao and the Taipei–New Taipei skyline into the room. Daylight feels expansive; night adds city lights. Seating is spacious, with arrangements for families and larger groups. Window tables are limited and usually assigned according to reservations and on-site needs. Reserve early and state your preference to improve your chances, while recognizing that the final arrangement belongs to the restaurant.
Location and dining notes:50F Café is at 新北市板橋區新站路16號百揚大樓50樓, beside Mega City Banqiao, and within walking distance of Banqiao metro, TRA, and HSR stations. Follow the signs to check in, then take the dedicated elevator upstairs. Meal periods, prices, seats, and seafood themes can change, so consult the latest official notice before reserving. If sashimi, seared sushi, or themed seafood matters most, entering earlier gives you more room to browse.
● Fresh-Cut Sashimi

The Japanese station slices to order, commonly offering salmon, tuna, swordfish, and other fish. The cuts retain the fish's smooth tenderness and richness. Salmon makes a gentle opening for the first round, while other fish can be sampled according to the day's supply. A buffet makes it easy to take everything in sight. Uncle suggests starting with small portions and returning for favorites, which keeps each bite in better condition and prevents your plate from becoming a seafood traffic accident.

● Seared Conger Eel Sushi

Conger eel sushi is seared after ordering, with heat drawing out the fish's sweetness and aroma. The texture is tender, and seasoning does not overwhelm the eel itself. Rather than competing like a heavy meat dish, it fits between sashimi, steak, and other seafood as a chance to change pace. Rice is filling, so do not take too many in the first round; an entire buffet still waits behind it.

● Charcoal-Grilled Steak

Charcoal-Grilled Steak is sliced at the station. Its exterior carries a seared aroma, the edges have a little more crispness, and the center retains juice and tenderness. It does not lean on elaborate sauce; charcoal flavor stands on its own, with a little salt enough for emphasis. Eat it hot. If you leave it on your plate for a full lap and ten photos, the meat will not stop cooling just because you have a ritual.

Uncle's line: All-you-can-eat does not mean taking everything. It means knowing which dishes deserve another notch from your belt.
💡 Buffet notes

Survey the whole buffet on your first round, then take small amounts of Fresh-Cut Sashimi, seared conger eel sushi, and Charcoal-Grilled Steak. Themed seafood, snow-crab hot pot, and other items are not fixed; supply and replenishment follow the day's service. Ask about the view when you enter, and mind the flow of people while collecting food.

📌 Editor's verdict

50F Café does more than move a restaurant upstairs. Beyond the high-rise windows, Fresh-Cut Sashimi, seared conger eel sushi, and Charcoal-Grilled Steak each have a clear role. It handles seafood cravings, night views, and varied group dining needs in one place. Check the latest meal periods and theme before reserving, then walk the buffet before filling a plate; that gives you better odds than charging in at random.
