You never know until you look—and this one surprised me.
OFFTEAturns out to be Second Floor 貳樓 the hand-shaken tea brand under its group.
It feels like this: you think it is just a bright yellow roadside shop, then check the background and realize it is not really “new.”
It is an established old soul meeting you in a different form.
That impossibly bright yellow storefront has real presence at night.
A little like—
you drag yourself past after work, meaning only to glance, but it catches your eye and slows your steps.
Then you go in.
More intriguingly, the atmosphere was not improvised. They reportedly invited 歐馬克 to help design the store’s musical style.
That detail feels very “Second Floor”—
not merely selling food and drinks, but slowly building a way of life that makes you stay longer.
🍗 Signature Oat-Coated Boneless Chicken Cutlet
The first bite makes you pause.
Not the ordinary kind of—
“Mm, tasty.”
More like—
Wait, why does the crust feel a little like a cookie?
Oats in the coating give a dry, decisive crunch, lighter and cleaner than a heavy fried shell.
Inside is one whole, thick chicken breast.
Not a thin slice for show, but the kind that makes you quietly think—
“Good, I probably have enough protein today.”
And the biggest bonus—
boneless.
They really understand people.
Especially anyone too tired to gnaw, short on patience, with only “I need food” left in the brain.
No gnawing, dismantling, or thinking.
Just bite, swallow, and feel quietly satisfied.
That simplicity is unexpectedly soothing.

🍹 Crimson Dawn
I ordered Crimson Dawn, an unsweetened iced black tea.
Honestly, it is not a flavor the first sip brands into memory.
There is no exaggerated fruit aroma or tea so strong it crushes everything.
It is simply—
just right.
So right that you do not analyze it, but drink it sip after sip until it is gone.
With the chicken cutlet, it creates a subtle balance.
As if someone already set the ratio of oil, aroma, and freshness in a comfortable place.
You only need to sit and eat.

🏢 A little neighborhood warmth
This is already my second OFFTEA meal this month.
Yet neither time did I buy it myself.
It came from the neighborhood chairperson’s wife.
She often treats me to food.
Not merely once in a while—
often enough that I start wondering—
whether she will appear again today.
Recently it was MOS black tea with nuggets and fries; sometimes milk tea.
Lately, she seems taken with OFFTEA.
I told her last time it was good, so this time she handed me two chicken cutlets and two drinks.
For a moment, I froze.
Not because it was luxurious, but because the care felt so natural.
Not a formal “my treat,”
more like—
“Hey, you probably haven’t eaten, right? Here—I picked this up for you.”
Casual, but warm.
The community is small, yet the chairperson and treasurer are both kind to me. It is not politeness or display, but familiarity accumulated through ordinary days.
And because of that—
I have room and energy to build websites and take projects.
Some things do not come from effort alone. Someone nearby supports you so you can work slowly.
✍️ More another time
This community holds many more stories.
Details you miss at first, then feel warming you little by little as you stay.
I will write them slowly when there is another chance.
